€350m for roads and railways
The government approved moving €250m in EU funds from other uses to roads and railways. Later this year, the Transport Ministry wants to move another €100m in the same direction. The reallocation must be approved by the European Commission. Slovakia has not been able to spend EU funds for research or creative industries, but all funds for highways have already been allocated.
Slovakia has so far spent 23% of EU funds for the 2014-20 period. Contracts have been signed for 56% of the entire allocation (€15.5bn).
