Bratislava Volkswagen car plant’s labor union is demanding a €120 wage hike
The Bratislava Volkswagen car plant’s labor union is demanding a €120 wage hike for this year and a 15 minute cut in working time. It admits keeping jobs rather than the wage hike will be its priority this year as the plant is in the process of reducing workforce by 3,000 to 11,000. When wages were negotiated the last time in 2017, a 6-day strike was part of the process. The final agreement involved a 14% wage hike to €1,800.
