US and Russian products pose security risks, says Pellegrini
Slovakia has no information about the Chinese telecoms manufacturer Huawei posing a security threat, said PM Peter Pellegrini. He thinks information about the firm’s links to the Chinese government is a part of a trade war and sees potential security risks in US and Russian products, too.
The USA accused Huawei of intellectual property theft and breaching US sanctions against Iran. Czechia has excluded the company from a tender for the supply of IT components for its tax authority. USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and UK agreed not to use Huawei products in their 5G networks.
