Largest acquisitions of 2018

Slovakia recorded 54 mergers and acquisitions totaling €350m last year, estimates CMS, a law firm, and EMIS, an analytical platform. The number of transactions was up 29% annually, and their financial volume fell 24%. The largest numbers of transactions were in real estate, manufacturing, telecoms and IT. The largest transaction was NEPI Rockcastle of Romania paying €122m to acquire Galéria Mlyny, a Nitra-based shopping mall, from Slovak investors. Budamar paid €100m for 50% in Tatravagónka Poprad; Dutch NN paid €77.5m for the Slovak assets of Aegon; REICO paid €39m for industrial park Dubnica; and Czech Media Invest paid €5.2m for Europa 2 radio station.
