Farmers will get €110m extra in 2019

Farmers will get €110m extra in 2019, boasts Agriculture Minister Gabriela Matečná (SNS). They will get revenue from the new special levy on retailers (€80m) as well as a €30m special fuel subsidy. Matečná hopes the new subsidies will improve their competitiveness and Slovakia’s food self-sustainability. She will step up controls of food imports to prevent illegal imports.
