Balanced budget in 2019
Slovakia will balance its public finance budget for the very first time in 2019, announced PM Peter Pellegrini. Back in October, the government approved the 2019 budget with a 0.1% of GDP deficit, and banked on a balanced budget for 2020. Budget expenditures will remain at the initially planned level next year, but the government cut the spending reserve, as well as co-financing for EU funds.
