The state wants to lease the Bratislava airport
The Transport Ministry sent for comments a proposal to select a strategic partner for the state-owned M.R. Štefánik airport in Bratislava. It wants to sign a long-term lease agreement in 2021, with the partner overseeing the airport’s long-term development. The partner is to assume the airport’s debts, totaling €54m, and pay €1.3m annually to the state. The airport needs about €200m in further investment. Since the coalition party SNS opposes the lease, the decision will be up to the next government.
