Slovak cinema chain Cinemax expands to Romania

Slovak cinema chain Cinemax (Michal Drobný) will open its first two multiplexes in Romania at the beginning of next year. It will have invested €4m by then. In has 65 movie theaters (only in Slovakia), and plans to double that number by 2020 thanks to its expansion to Romania. Last year, Cinemax doubled its net profit to €0.6m, and its sales jumped 18% to €16.6m.

Drobný also owns Continental Film, one of the largest movie distributors in Slovakia.
