Kaufland is pulling Unilever products off its shelves
German retailer Kaufland is pulling around 480 Unilever branded products off its shelves after the manufacturer attempted unilaterally to push through price increases for its foodstuffs and cosmetics. The products are being dropped in Slovakia, Germany, Czechia, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria. The ban includes well-known brands such as Knorr, Lipton, Magnum, Langnese, Dove, Axe, Domestos, Coral, Viss and many others.
The remaining Slovak retailers are still selling Unilever products. In Slovakia, Kaufland reported €1.1bn sales last year, making it the third-largest retailer here. Unilever had €80.4m sales in Slovakia last year.
