Brose expands in Prievidza

German car parts maker Brose keeps expanding its Prievidza plant for making mechatronic components for the automotive sector. The plant, which launched production last spring, has already seen €100m in investments. It employs 700 people, of whom 50 are in product development. Next year, it will add a new hall, and within seven years it plans to have 1,500 production workers and 200 engineers in the development center. It managed to grow so fast due in part to active HR marketing, with an annual budget of €0.3m. It also employs former miners, as the HBP mine in Prievidza will be closed in coming years.

For 15 years now Brose has had a plant in Lozorno that supplies the nearby Volkswagen car plant in a just-in-time regime. It employs 300 and had over €100m in sales last year.

The Prievidza plant is investing €3m into the local airport. It will build an asphalt runway instead of the current natural surface.
