Matador to join forces with Sodecia

The anti-trust authority PMÚ approved the sale of a minority stake in local automotive group Matador’s key division, which makes pressed and welded car body parts, to a Portuguese group, Sodecia. The value of the deal was not disclosed. The two companies are setting up a joint venture in which Sodecia will manage Matador’s plants in Vráble, Nitra, Liberec (CR) and Nizhny Novgorod (Russia). Matador hopes to gain access to new markets and plans to use proceeds in the development of automated lines and tools, its own design center, and the production of car prototypes.
