Slovakia will receive 22% less in EU funds
Slovakia will receive 22% less in EU funds in 2021-27 compared to 2014-20, proposed the European Commission on Tuesday. The V4 countries will be impacted the most by cuts in cohesion funds, due to their rising living standards and more money going to regions hit by migration and financial crises. The EC proposed the largest increases in spending for Italy, Spain, and Greece. Slovakia should be allocated €11.8bn, down from the current €15.1bn (these are 2018 prices; in current prices, Slovakia will be allocated €13.3bn, the same amount as in 2007-13). The Slovak government will try to negotiate more money.
