Pellegrini could not afford to buy his luxury apartment from his official salary
New PM Peter Pellegrini could not afford to buy his luxury apartment in Bratislava from his official salary, according to the N daily. He graduated from university in 1998, was a sole trader until 2002 and since then has been paid by the state (as an MP and then cabinet member). His expenditures since 2005 are at least €100,000 higher compared to his salary (he has never been married). Pellegrini explains the gap as the result of “capital income”, but would not delve into the details.
