Inherited land should not be divided

Agriculture Minister Gabriela Matečná (SNS) will propose that inherited land can’t be divided. She wants Slovakia to move from the so-called Hungarian system, where land is divided between all heirs to so-called Austrian model where only one heir inherits all the land and pays compensation to other heirs. This change would address the current problem of fragmented land ownership. Czechia has switched to the Austrian model several years ago.
