Smer MP and illegal farming subsidies

The companies of former Smer MP Ľubica Rošková have for many years been receiving farming subsidies for land they do not own or cultivate. They even receive subsidies for a tarmac parking lot. Such fraud may earn her dozens to hundreds of thousand euros annually. Some of the land owners who were deprived of their subsidies by Rošková even committed suicide. The police and PPA agency that distributes the subsidies were alerted, but refused to act. Regional managers of the state land fund SPF blew the whistle too, but Gabriela Matečná (SNS), former SPF head and current agriculture minister, did not act either.

New PM Peter Pellegrini will look into the issue. Ex-Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák (Smer) doubts the allegations, as “Rošková is a very decent lady”.
