Slovak automotive sector could be victim of US-EU trade war
The Slovak automotive sector could be among the victims of a potential trade war between the USA and the EU. U.S. President Donald Trump said he plans to impose 10-25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. The EU warned it may retaliate by imposing tariffs on US motorcycles. Should that happen, Trump might slap tariffs on European cars. The USA is the fourth largest market for Slovak car plants. The Bratislava VW plant exports its luxury SUV models Porsche and Audi there.
