Austria wants less EU funds for Slovakia
Eastern EU members including Slovakia should be getting less money from the EU budget according to the new Austrian PM Sebastian Kurz. When negotiating the new EU budget for the 2021-27 period, Kurz will “strongly advocate the interests of net payers“. He is aware this position will put him in conflict with the V4 countries. Kurz wants to make sure that after the UK, a net payer to the EU budget, leaves the union, other net payers such as Austria do not share a higher burden.
