Hotel Carlton ownership dispute is getting complicated
The hotel Carlton ownership dispute between Erik Mikurčík and Eset shareholders Rudolf Hrubý and Maroš Grund is getting complicated. While the Bratislava V District Court repeatedly banned Hrubý and Grund from acting on behalf of the hotel, the Bratislava I District Court issued a similar ban on Mikurčík. As a result, the Business Registry has Mikurčík as the owner of 92% of the hotel’s shares, but Grund and Hrubý are listed as legal representatives. Both parties dispute the ownership and legal representation of the other party. Law firms Relevans (Grund and Hrubý) and Futej & Partners (Mikurčík) will be busy in the foreseeable future.
The trio, then friends, acquired the hotel last year. Hrubý and Grund provided €27m, and Mikurčík was to manage the hotel. The partnership ended soon afterwards.
