Čaputová will not appoint Jozef Hlinka as Labor Minister

President Zuzana Čaputová will appoint the new cabinet led by Eduard Heger (OĽaNO) today, but without a Labor Minister. Sme rodina nominated its MP Jozef Hlinka, who for five months in 1997 served as aide to Interior Minister Gustáv Krajči (HZDS). At that time, Krajčí thwarted the investigation of Michal Kováč Jr.’s kidnapping to Austria as well as a referendum on NATO membership and the direct vote of the president. Hlinka also served as chief of staff for then minister Daniel Lipšic. Čaputová would not disclose her reasons for not appointing Hlinka and will wait for a new Sme rodina candidate.
