Unicorn owned by two Slovaks
Global e-commerce platform Berlin Brands Group (BBG), co-founded by two Slovaks, Dominik Brichta and Peter Both, has a new minority shareholder in Bain Capital. It has invested $700m and valued the company at over $1bn. BBG has 14 brands (such as Klarstein) and serves the CEE region from its logistics center in Bratislava. It has over a thousand workers in five countries, of whom 180 are in Slovakia. Last year, it had €334m in sales. Brichta leads the M&A dept. and Both is in charge of the CEE region.
