U.S. Steel is conducting an internal investigation into suspicious sales of products by its plant in Košice

U.S. Steel is conducting an internal investigation into suspicious sales of products by its plant in Košice, sources tell the N daily. The damage could have topped €1m. In June, U.S. investigators questioned more than a dozen staff, including Julius Lang, U.S. Steel Košice's vice president of sales. Another suspect is the Košice company BarCom, whose owner, Juraj Barkáč, confirms a friendly relationship with Lang. This company was supposed to buy cheaply from U.S. Steel and make high profits on subsequent sales to Hungary. U.S. Steel declined to comment on the "speculation."
