The average wage in Slovakia was €1,524 last year, and the median wage (half of people earn less) was €1,434, according to ŠÚ detailed data on wage distribution. The top 10% of male earners had a gross salary of over €3,044, and women over €2,425. In Bratislava, these thresholds were €4,074 and €3,064. The average wage was highest in the 40–44 age group, at €1,877. The average wage for people with basic education was €1,235 and €2,418 for those with a PhD.
