The first electric buses powered by InoBat batteries should run this year, says the company's founder, Marián Boček. InoBat has already raised €90m from investors such as Rio Tinto, ČEZ, Amara Raja, Ideanomics, and the World Bank. In Voderady, it is building a €100m research and production facility. Its batteries are not meant for the mainstream market, which will be served by carmakers such as VW. "We would like to be like Dior and not like H&M, and supply batteries to manufacturers of premium cars, vans, buses and small aircraft," says Boček. The Voderady center employs 60 and will gradually add another 150 employees.
