Tax fraudster Ladislav Bašternák may lose €10m property

Three apartments in Bratislava that tax fraudster Ladislav Bašternák donated to his parents have become part of the bankruptcy estate, the Bratislava I District Court ruled. This is the first verdict in a series of lawsuits through which the state is claiming €10m worth of property that Bašternák signed over to relatives in 2017-19. In 2019, he was sentenced to five years in prison and forfeiture of assets for tax dodging. The state plans to sell the assets to compensate for the damage caused by Bašternák.
