Subsidies for energy storage
Slovenské elektrárne, Veolia, and other large energy companies called on Economy Minister Richard Sulík to withdraw support from the ZSE’s plan to invest €300m into battery storage and call a fair tender for subsidies into such storage facilities. If ZSE gets EU funds for its project, competing companies might be disadvantaged. The new storage facilities might reduce the price of energy grid support services, damaging their current providers, such as the companies of Jozef Brhel.
