The state launched a tender for 6-year licenses for emergency services, for which it plans to pay €1.3bn over the period. Licenses will be awarded for 344 locations, 23 more than currently exist. Seven licenses for helicopter emergency medical services are also up for grabs. Bids are expected by June 27. Several strong companies are interested in the licenses, including Penta, Falck, Agel, the current operator LSE, as well as state ambulance services in Bratislava and Košice. One provider cannot obtain more than 25% of all stations.
