State-run Slovak Investment Holding is investing €12m in InoBat (Marián Boček), which develops batteries for electric vehicles. It thus joined other investors in the C series investment round. The new capital will fund the development and production center that InoBat is building in Voderady, which is expected to launch production in the first quarter of this year.
A joint venture of Chinese firm Gotion and InoBat is planning a large battery factory in Šurany.
