Slovnaft no longer depends on Russian crude oil
Slovnaft, a crude oil refinery owned by Mol of Hungary, will reduce the share of Russian oil in its processing to 60% next year from the current 95%. It is responding to the upcoming EU embargo on the import of Russian oil, which is supposed to reduce Russia's ability to finance the war in Ukraine. The refinery aims to keep the processing capacity at the current level to maintain fuel exports to the Central European region. The share of Russian oil will further decrease in 2024, as the exemption from the EU embargo on exports to Czechia expires in December 2023.
