Slovaks' inflation expectations falling but still high

Slovaks' inflation expectations for the next 12 months fell to 15% at the end of 2023 from 30% a year earlier, NBS surveys show. Slovaks estimate current inflation at 25%. In fact, it was 5.9% in December and peaked at just above 15% in March 2023, ŠÚ data show. Analysts expect inflation of 3-4% this year. Inflation expectations translate into wage growth, which feeds back into inflation.
