Slovakia will spend only 92% of the €16.6bn EU fund allocation for 2014-20, losing €1.3bn, the Finance Ministry estimates. So far, it has spent 72% and the money is only available until the end of this year. This year, Slovakia will spend 22% of the total allocation, while in 2015 it was 35%. Slovakia managed to spend 95% of EU funds for 2007-13. The EU estimates that eight member states will spend less than 92% of the subsidies, with Denmark, Italy, and France among the worst performers.
