Slovakia will get €34bn in various EU funds in coming years
Slovakia will get €34bn in various EU funds in coming years, reckons Deputy PM Veronika Remišová. Of EU cohesion funds for 2014-20, €8.8bn is still unspent, REACT-EU will provide €780m to fight pandemic (both sums need to be spent by the end of 2023), the Recovery Fund will provide €6.3bn (2026), the Just Transition Fund €460m (2029), EU cohesion funds for 2021-27 another €12.9bn (2029) and farmers will be allocated €4.9bn from the Common Agricultural Policy (2029). The key challenge will be Slovakia’s limited administrative and absorption capacity.
