Slovak Telekom and O2 will shortly sign a contract on sharing mobile networks, sources tell Živé.sk. The aim is to make savings in building and operating the networks, which will theoretically create room to reduce prices for end clients. Both operators will mainly use Slovak Telekom's current infrastructure, as its antennas are more often connected to the fiber-optic network. The sharing will not apply to Bratislava and Košice, which will continue to have their own networks. Both operators use Ericsson technology. The anti-trust authority PMÚ does not review this type of agreement, that is common in most EU countries.
