Share of private food brands rose to an all-time high in 2023
The share of private food brands on store shelves rose to an all-time high of 26.8% last year, according to a survey by the food chamber PKS. The share was 1.2 points higher annually. It was highest in discount stores (54%), mainly Lidl, and in terms of assortment it is led by milk (58%), packaged meat products (46%), and cheese (43%). Among private labels, 18% are foreign and 9% Slovak.
