SaS still insists on tax brake
The coalition party SaS still insists on inserting the so-called tax brake―the pledge that fiscal consolidation won’t involve tax hikes―into some constitutional act, preferably the Debt Brake Act. OĽaNO rejects the idea and parliament will therefore not discuss in March the revision to the Debt Brake Act submitted by Finance Minister Eduard Heger. He wants to impose spending caps for individual ministries and define a cap on net public debt instead of the current cap on gross debt. SaS insists a cap on the total tax burden be imposed.
