Rio Tinto invests in InoBat Auto
Global mining giant Rio Tinto has put an unspecified sum into the electric car battery research and production center in Voderady of local firm InoBat Auto (Marián Boček). The investment topped €10m. Rio Tinto owns one of the largest lithium mines in the world in Jadar (Serbia). It wants to use lithium for car batteries, and InoBat Auto is considering building another car battery plant in Serbia. Its previous investors include ČEZ (€10m), Matador, and the MSM Group.
