Recent capping of power transmission fees will not help large companies
The recent capping of power transmission fees at last year's level for companies will not help large consumers, who were already receiving large discounts on these fees, points out ferroalloy producer OFZ. Its power price will drop by just €1 per MWh. It criticizes the government's decision not to use €600m to help large consumers; the EU has already okayed the assistance. OFZ currently operates only one of its seven furnaces and will decide on the possible start-up of the others at the end of May. It points out that its competitors in France pay €45 per MWh for electricity, compared to its price of €120.
