Quarter of hotel owners are oligarchs and privatizers

About a quarter of hotel owners belong to oligarchs and privatizers, a new site run by Transparency International Slovensko shows. The site ranks over 600 hotels in Slovakia by the transparency and creditworthiness of their owners, helping people and companies to take ethical issues into consideration when deciding where to spend a holiday or hold a corporate event. Half of the hotels were given the best mark, and about a tenth have disreputable owners. Tax haven firms own about 5% of Slovak hotels.
