Penta sold three hospitals to Agel

Penta is selling three hospitals and two polyclinics in central Slovakia to Agel (Tomáš Chrenek). It is responding to the hospital reform launched by the current government, after which "the provision of health care will be highly dependent on regional concentration." Penta is keeping 14 hospitals in the west and east of Slovakia. It is selling its smaller hospitals in Žiar nad Hronom and Banská Štiavnica, a cancer hospital Mammacentrum sv. Agáty in Banská Bystrica, and polyclinics in Žiar nad Hronom and Zvolen. Before the deal, Agel had 13 hospitals here.

Penta will apply for Recovery Facility money for renovation of its hospitals in Rimavská Sobota, Spišská Nová Ves, Humenné, Michalovce, and Topoľčany.
