Penta reported a net profit of €504m last year

Penta (Haščák family and Marek Dospiva) reported a net profit of €504m last year, the 2nd-highest in history after €570m in 2021. Total assets rose by €700m to €15bn. The group employs 40,000 people and its results were driven by Dr.Max pharmacies, Penta Hospitals, Prima banka, and Privatbanka, betting firm Fortuna, and Penta RE. The sale of troubled companies Mecom and Aero Vodochody also helped. The companies in its portfolio invested €900m in 2023. In the future, it wants to invest mainly in Dr.Max, hospitals, and real estate. So far, it has only invested partners' money; this year it is opening its first fund for external investors.
