Over million Slovaks live abroad
Slovakia has almost 5.5m inhabitants and another over million Slovaks live abroad, the Foreign Affairs Ministry estimates. Among foreign countries, the largest number of Slovaks live in the USA (750,000), Czechia (350,000), Canada (150,000), Great Britain (110,000) and Hungary (100,000). These are permanent residents, but also students, commuters and seasonal workers.
