OMV to acquire 27 gas stations from Benzinol

PMÚ, the anti-trust authority, is reviewing the acquisition of 27 gas stations of Benzinol (Martin Čepel) by OMV. The latter has 102 stations in Slovakia. Benzinol, which had revenues of €103m last year, was also reportedly negotiating a sale to Poland’s Orlen. It is in financial dire straits, as evidenced by a debt of €0.9m in payroll levies and €2.8m in taxes. In recent months, some of its stations have run out of fuel.
