A consortium of Bekor (Alexander Gyurkovics), West Hungária and Confector (both Hungary-based) submitted the lowest bid of €451m in a tender to build a new hospital in Prešov. Gyurkovics also owns Ava-Stav, a construction firm with a track record of public contracts. The state had expected €360m. It comes as a disappointment that only two bids were submitted and that large construction firms did not participate. This tender covers just one of three project phases, meaning the final cost will be significantly higher.
