Kronospan invests €120m in Zvolen
Austria’s Kronospan, world’s leading manufacturer of wood-based panels, plans to invest €120m into the production of fiberboard in its plant in Zvolen. The investment will create 130 jobs and improve the added value in the Slovak wood processing sector, as currently as much as 20% of all timber is exported without any processing. The Zvolen plant currently makes chipboard, has annual sales of €100m and employs 350. The new project will increase its wood processing by 340,000 cubic meters of wood per year and make 450,000 tons of wood fiberboard used to make furniture.
