Just 23% of companies in Slovakia plan to hire this year, the lowest level in 15 years, a survey by staffing agency Elanor shows. Companies are cautious and are concerned about the impacts of the pandemic and recession. They have undergone a transformation over the last year that included the merger of managerial positions, changed job descriptions, an increased share of bonuses on overall renumeration and a 30% cut in number of company cars. HR managers improved their position; in two thirds of companies they are now part of strategic management.
