Jess will produce hydrogen and may build a new nuclear power plant

Jess, a state-owned firm, plans to produce hydrogen in Trnava, to be used by public transport buses as well as trucks. The Trnava region VÚC plans to buy 8-10 hydrogen buses. The €4m technology should be launched at the end of 2024. It will use electricity from a €60m photovoltaic power plant Jess plans to build in Jaslovské Bohunice. (

Given the situation in Ukraine, Jess is ready to accelerate its plan to build a new €4-6bn nuclear power plant with an installed output of 1,700 MW in Jaslovské Bohunice. Previously, it had not planned to build it before 2039.
