Insurers still refuse to increase PZP rates
For 20 years, insurers have been talking about the need to increase the prices of compulsory third-party liability motor insurance (PZP), but even last year's attempt was thwarted by market competition. Insurer Uniqa explains that the market share of those insurers that raised PZP rates at the end of last year dropped sharply and the resulting price increase was modest. Insurers’ losses in this segment thus continue. PZP was profitable during the pandemic, when the number of accidents fell sharply due to lower traffic. However, car repair prices are rising and insurers are forced to pay ever higher damage compensations.
