Households’ purchasing power rose 10% or €75 a month in 2022-23 despite an inflationary shock, says RRZ. Without energy price compensations, the average family's monthly spending would have risen by 34% or €250; in fact, it has risen by 24%. Rising wages, benefits, and pensions have increased their incomes, too. Purchasing power has fallen for only 15% of families, especially one-person ones.
