The price of Brent crude dropped below $60 per barrel following an unexpected decision by the OPEC+ cartel to increase output, marking the lowest level since February 2021. A strengthening euro has further reduced fuel costs, making fuel more affordable in Slovakia than ever in relative terms. Less than 10 minutes of work now covers the cost of one liter of gasoline or diesel. Nominal fuel prices stand at €1.49/liter for gas and €1.41 for diesel. According to EU data, gas prices are the 2nd-highest in the region after Austria, and diesel prices the 3rd-highest, after Austria and Hungary.
