Foreign copanies account for 52% of output and 28% of employment
In 2022, foreign-controlled enterprises accounted for 52% of value added in the business producers’ market in Slovakia, the 3rd-highest share in the EU following Ireland (71%) and Luxembourg (55%), Eurostat reported. By contrast, the lowest shares were observed in France (16%), Germany, and Italy (both 17%). The EU average was 24%. While accounting for 52% of output, foreign companies had just 28% of employment in Slovakia (they employed 510,000 people).
