Falling demand for rooftop photovoltaic systems

Regional energy distributors ZSE, SSE and VSE report falling demand for rooftop photovoltaic systems installations in the first quarter of this year. The years 2022-23 were record ones, also thanks to a threat of high power prices. ZSE and VSE report a one-third annual drop in demand in the residential segment; this is still a 4-5-fold growth compared to 2021. Relatively low energy prices are also hampering demand for heat pumps; last year, their sales in Slovakia were down 12% annually. Sales in the coming years will also depend on various state subsidy programs.
